Naglfar

Naglfar is a ship built from the nails of the dead. At Ragnarök, the goddess Hel and her army of the dead will sail out on it from Helheim, and it will later ferry the Jotnar and other monsters into battle against the Aesir.

The Norse had a custom of trimming and burning the nails of the dead. This was done so that Naglfar could never be finished in the world of the dead.

The ship proved so massive that it could not sail, but before Ragnarök, a fierce winter will rage for three years, freezing the sea down to its very floor. As a result, Naglfar will travel across it like a sled.
