Heroes are an essential part of any mythology. Unfortunately, very few heroic figures have survived in Slavic mythology to this day. As you probably know, there are several reasons for this. First, a lack of written records from times when writing systems were either extremely primitive or entirely absent. Second, with the arrival of Christianity, much of the information was deliberately destroyed, and those who preserved or shared it were often punished. So we must cherish what has remained.

Aside from heroes, Slavic myths and legends feature many other fascinating and remarkable characters. We’ll be giving them just as much attention, aiming to uncover and highlight their stories to the fullest extent.

We will also help you identify the archetype of the Slavic hero to better understand what kinds of characters society needed at different stages of history. These heroes varied in both personality and appearance across time. What's particularly interesting is that modern literature often borrows from these very archetypes.
